What 墨门 does is simple enough to fit in nine words. All of them point at one thing: turning the ten doctrines from a book into a habit.
每周一篇, the weekly reading. Every Mohist reads the same chapter of the Mozi each week on a shared yearly schedule. Each chapter on this site comes with an introduction, one three-tests discussion question, and one practice for the week. Read it on your phone, or read it with your chapter. The whole book takes a year; then you start again.
墨社, chapter meetings. One hour a week in a member's home, a library, or a community center. Twenty minutes reading the week's chapter, twenty minutes of 墨辩, ten minutes reviewing last week's practice with the three tests, ten minutes reporting on and handing out this week's assignments. No rituals, no collection plate.
兼爱结对, care pairs. Every Mohist has a partner, assigned by the chapter lead, rotated yearly, and deliberately matched across different backgrounds. You check in at least once a week and learn how the other person is doing and what they need. This is the smallest unit of impartial care.
职, assignments. Everything a chapter does, leading the reading, keeping the council record, managing the books, welcoming newcomers, running 科技堂, is an assignment: nominated by members, appointed by the chapter lead on ability and character, with a fixed term and a published standard. Everyone has one. There are no spectators.
兼爱基金, the care fund. The chapter's fund for people in need, filled by 有财相分 and the 节用捐, paid out by need rather than connection, and prioritized by Mozi's three hardships: hunger, cold, exhaustion. Every item appears in the chapter's open books.
非攻 Corps. The volunteer service corps, trained in emergency response, mediation, and basic protection. When a community faces disaster, conflict, or threat, the Corps stands with the people who need protecting. Mohists who want to give a full year can apply for the 兼士 service year.
科技堂, the STEM hall. Hands-on science for children, starting from the pinhole image, the lever, and the geometry in the Mohist Canons. Mozi was an engineer, and we want children to meet that side of him first.
墨辩, debate. The argument segment of every meeting: two sides reason through one question from the week's reading, and the rest judge whose argument survives the three tests. 墨辩 trains not eloquence but 知类, judging like cases by like standards.
兼爱大会, the assembly. Twice a year, delegates from every chapter gather to consider amendments to the Handbook, elect or hold to account the 鉅子 and the council, publish the full accounts, and review the year's three-tests goals. It is the only body that can change the rules.
