Handbook

How the Community runs: organization, meetings, assignments, care pairs, the fund, appeals.

The Handbook (墨者之法) is the Community's charter, in four parts: Foundations, Organization, The Work, Administration. Rules are numbered chapter.section.rule and cited as "Handbook 5.2.1".

Part 1Foundations

  1. 1Purpose and the Three TestsWhy the Community exists, the standard every rule in this Handbook must meet, and who the Handbook binds most.
  2. 2The Ten DoctrinesThe ten claims Mohists affirm as a shared practice, and the Community's secular reading of Heaven's Will and Ghosts.

Part 2Organization

  1. 3Becoming a MohistThe path from seeker to friend to Mohist, the first year after admission, and the rules for leaving, rejoining, and transferring.
  2. 4LeadershipThe duties, terms, elections, succession, and removal of the Juzi, the Community Council, region leads, and chapter leads.
  3. 5ChaptersHow a chapter forms, how large it should be, when it splits, who governs it, and how chapters and regions are named.
  4. 6MeetingsHow the weekly hour is spent, what the monthly meeting, the Assembly, and the region conference each do, and the rules for online meetings, children, and accessibility.
  5. 7AssignmentsEvery Mohist holds one assignment: the standard list, one-year terms, the path from proposal to release, and why an assignment is never a rank.
  6. 8Care PairsEvery Mohist is paired with one other: how pairs are made, how often they talk, what is recorded, what stays confidential, and what to do when a partner goes quiet.

Part 3The Work

  1. 9Contributions, the Frugality Offering and the Impartial Care FundHow Mohists give voluntarily, who holds the money, what it is used for, and how every account is opened to all.
  2. 10ServiceThe 非攻 Corps, the 兼士 service year, local service days, and the rules for working with other organizations.
  3. 11Youth科技堂 for children, 少年墨者 for teenagers, the rules that protect minors, and the annual 兼士营 gathering.
  4. 12StandardsThe 节用 standard, the 非攻 pledge, honesty, political neutrality, alcohol-free meetings, non-discrimination, and the rules the Community does not have.

Part 4Administration

  1. 13Records and PrivacyWhat the Community records and what it never records, the rights every Mohist has over their own record, and how data is protected.
  2. 14Discipline and AppealsHow the Community handles serious breaches: a conversation first, then a three-member panel, limited sanctions, a right of appeal, and always a way back.
  3. 15AmendmentsHow 墨者之法 is changed, when changes take effect, how the two languages are kept in step, and how to cite it.
